Ile St. Louis

Thursday 5/3

Ile St. Louis is an island in the Seine just next to another island, the Ile de la Cite.  Almost 100 percent of the buildings on Ile St. Louis were build in the 17th century.  Built as huge residences for the aristocracy.  It is not very big...two blocks wide by about four blocks long. The narrow street down the center is lined with shops.  The views across the Seine towards the left bank are really nice.

In the window of a shop that sold only poultry and meat, these chickens were dressed in an interesting way.  They had left the feathers on the wings only.  And the feathers were colorful.  There were some others where they had left the heads on....complete with long white head feathers.
